Problem Areas
__________Oxidation leaves a white chalky film on the siding that can dull the exterior of your home. Regular cleaning can aid in prevention of oxidation from forming. Barlow's recommends cleaning every 2 to 3 years.
Oxidation:
_______________Corroded areas leave dark spots on the siding. These are caused by moisture being exposed to the metal surface for extended periods of time. Check for rust-colored stains in places that tend to stay wet longer, such as under eaves or recessed entryways. Corroded areas need maintanence to prevent further damage. Check both alumunum and steel siding. Sand out the corrosion blisters down to the bare metal, then prime with an anti-rust primer. To help prevent this problem have cleaning done every 2 - 3 years or so.
